A Dog's Day Out...

What We Do...

At Luca's Doggy Daycare & Grooming we want to give your dog the day out they deserve. We'll collect your dog in the morning ready for an action-packed day with their friends exploring our Daycare site, exercising and playing games. The site is set in the Cambridgeshire countryside in a fully enclosed 2 acre paddock complete with indoor/outdoor astroturf play area, heated timber cabin, sandpit and a full toy box! We drop your dog back home again happy and tired in the afternoon.

We offer a safe, friendly and social service where your dog can play, meet their friends and have fun. We only accept friendly dogs and they must be fully up to date with their vaccinations. We get to know each dog individually and offer as much love and fuss as if they were at home.

Luca's Doggy Daycare is suitable for all dog breeds from Pugs to Poodles, Retrievers to Ridgeback's - young and old, we just adjust their exercise and rest times accordingly.

5 Star Licence (AW1 - Luca's Doggy Daycare & Grooming) awarded by Huntingdonshire District Council in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act.

FAQ's

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes. Luca’s Doggy Daycare & Grooming is insured with specialist animal trade insurers. Our insurance covers public liability; daycare, custody, control and transportation of your dog including loss of keys.

Q: Do you have any qualifications?

A: Yes. Along with our love of dogs and years of experience we have Canine Care and Animal First Aid qualifications from the College of Animal Welfare in Godmanchester. Our Dog Groomer's are all minimum Level 3 City & Guilds qualified.

Q: What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?

A: Luca’s Doggy Daycare is extremely strict in only accepting social dogs. This ensures all the dogs are happy in one another’s company, so it’s unlikely your dog will not get on with another dog. Dog’s usually form their own social groups with dogs at the Daycare Centre who enjoy similar activities, running, chasing, sniffing bums that sort of thing…

Q: Do you only accept well-trained dogs?

A: No. In fact, one of the reasons people choose Luca’s Doggy Daycare is that socialisation and plenty of exercise often helps with training. Many owners have noticed improvement in their dog's behaviour after attending Luca’s. However, we only accept social dogs that have no history of aggression.

Q: Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?

A: No. Most clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with Luca’s Doggy Daycare to enable us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home. All staff who have responsibility of client’s keys are DBS Checked.

Q: Will my dog be supervised at all times?

A: Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision by our experienced doggy supervisors at the site and will NEVER be left unattended.

Q: I have a puppy or small dog, can they come to the Daycare Centre?

A: Yes. The day care centre is a great environment for your puppy to grow and socialise. We accept puppies from as young as 6 months old, once they are out of their vaccination period. Male dogs must be neutered.

Q: My dog doesn’t like crates or confined spaces; will he cope with travelling to and from the centre?

A: Yes. The crates are professionally fitted, and vet approved. They have more space than necessary for even the bigger breeds. We don’t find that the dogs have any issues with the van or crates, since it has a hugely positive association for them – it means they get to have a fun day running around with their friends!

Q: Do you offer daycare on the weekends and bank holidays?

A: Luca’s Doggy Daycare only operates from Monday-Friday and is closed Weekends and Bank Holidays.

Q: Do you have a licence?

A: Yes. Luca's Doggy Daycare & Grooming is licenced by Huntingdonshire District Council in accordance with the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018. We have a 5 Star Licence and our number is AW1.
